Rhynia
Rhynia is an extinct genus of early vascular plants that lived during
the Early Devonian period, approximately 400 million years ago. It belongs to a
group of plants known as rhyniophytes, which are among the earliest known land
plants with vascular tissue. Rhynia plants played a crucial role in the
colonization of land by plants and the evolution of vascular systems. Its
simple structure and primitive vascular tissue make it a significant organism
in the history of plant evolution.
